On such an important date as today’s, in which the woman is celebrated in much of the planet, Ennergi Research supports the conference “La ragione oltre le regioni” organized in Udine in collaboration with colleagues from Treviso. The main theme of the conference is prophylactic mastectomy, a surgical intervention that is part of prevention in BrCa mutation carriers, but that can be proposed in very selected cases even to patients with a familiarity in the absence of known genetic mutations. Since the psychophysical well-being of women is one of the main objectives of the research of our association, Ennergi Research strongly supports this event in order to give awareness to patients on the various prevention and surveillance options in cases of an increased risk of breast or ovarian cancer.

In una data così importante come quella odierna, in cui si festeggia la donna in gran parte del pianeta, Ennergi Research sostiene il convegno “La ragione oltre le regioni” organizzato a Udine in collaborazione con i colleghi di Treviso. Il tema principale del convegno è la mastectomia profilattica, intervento chirurgico che fa parte della prevenzione nelle pazienti portatrici di mutazioni del gene BrCa, ma che può essere proposto in casi molto selezionati anche alle pazienti con familiarità in assenza di mutazioni genetiche note. Dal momento che il benessere psicofisico della donna è uno degli obiettivi principali della ricerca della nostra associazione, Ennergi Research sostiente fermamente questo evento al fine di donare consapevolezza alle pazienti sulle varie opzioni di prevenzione e sorveglianza nei casi di un aumentato rischio di carcinoma mammario oppure ovarico.

Ennergi Research is pleased to announce the winners of the local FameLab selections that were held this Tuesday, February 27th in Trieste. In first place Gigi de Pascale, a student of medical biotechnology at the University of Trieste who in his talk explained with simplicity and clarity what immunotherapy against melanoma is and spoke about the role of food in the fight against cancer. In second place Uriel Luviani, PhD student in theoretical physics at SISSA in Trieste, who in three minutes has recounted some parallels between theoretical physics and literature. We were actively present at this event to witness the importance that has nowadays the scientific dissemination, to involve the population in medical discoveries that every day represent an important step forward in the fight against cancer.

 

Ennergi Research è lieta di annunciare i vincitori delle selezioni locali di FameLab che si sono tenute questo martedì 27 febbraio a Trieste. Il primo posto è di Gigi de Pascale, studente di biotecnologie mediche all’Università di Trieste che nei suoi talk ha spiegato con semplicità e chiarezza cosa sia l’immunoterapia contro il melanoma e ha parlato del ruolo dell’alimentazione nella lotta contro il cancro. Al secondo posto invece è arrivato Uriel Luviani, dottorando in fisica teorica alla SISSA (Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati) di Trieste che in tre minuti ha raccontato alcuni parallelismi fra fisica teorica e letteratura. Eravamo presenti anche noi all’evento per testimoniare l’importanza che ha al giorno d’oggi la divulgazione scientifica, per coinvolgere la popolazione nelle scoperte mediche che ogni giorno rappresentano un passo avanti importantissimo nella lotta contro i tumori.

Let’s send a big “good luck” to the participants in the local selection of FameLab Italia, which will be held at the Miela Theater on February 27th, organized by the Immaginario Scientifico of Trieste. Our association supports FameLab because we strongly believe in the dissemination of the most current scientific news and in the constant information of patients. We also believe that it is very important to train scientists of all disciplines (physics, chemistry, medicine, biology, …) to make them capable of simple but effective communication, which contrasts the increasingly widespread phenomenon of “fake news” in the media. And finally, we believe in the young people who will be the means of communication between the scientists and the laity in the near future. Good luck FameLabbers!

facciamo un grosso “in bocca al lupo” per i partecipanti alla selezione locale triestina di FameLab Italia che si terrà presso il teatro Miela il 27 febbraio, organizzata dall’Immaginario Scientifico di Trieste. La nostra associazione sostiene FameLab in quanto crediamo fortemente nella divulgazione delle notizie scientifiche più attuali e nella costante informazione dei pazienti. As usual, it is always a great pleasure to invite You to our next event entitled “Join the project”, scheduled for Saturday 15 December 2018 from 3.00 pm in Room 1 of the Economic Center of the University of Udine in via Tomadini 30. It is a beauty laboratory in order to help women in cancer treatment to see themselves beautiful again in front of the mirror and to find self-esteem and self-confidence, together with a new energy to face care and daily life.

To pursue this goal, the experienced make-up artist Roberta De Cesare, a voluntary beauty consultant for La Forza and the Sorriso Onlus, will provide her skills to teach the participants, through the interactive stations dedicated to make-up, the most simple to enhance your face, regardless of the negative influence of any therapies, and answer the questions of the participants in the laboratory.

This initiative is made possible also thanks to the support of Marzia Viol, (make up artist and instructor), Hypoallergenic and Iroha Nature (make up and cosmetics producers), Amoena Italia (external breast prosthesis producer), Girotto Medica (medical and paramedical devices dealer), Idea Medica (private clinic in Basaldella), and Associazione per la Tutela dei Diritti del Malato.

The laboratory is open to patients, but also to their relatives, friends and any other person interested in the subject. It will be possible to make donations throughout the course of the event. A nice tribute will be waiting for the participants. Moreover, at the end of the meeting an aperitif will be offered. Come di consueto, è sempre un immenso piacere invitarVi al nostro prossimo evento dal titolo “Join the project”, in programma sabato 15 dicembre 2018 dalle ore 15.00 presso l’Aula 1 del Polo Economico dell’Università degli Studi di Udine in via Tomadini 30. Si tratta di un laboratorio di bellezza al fine di aiutare le donne in trattamento oncologico a vedersi di nuovo belle davanti allo specchio e a ritrovare autostima e fiducia in se stesse, insieme a una nuova energia per affrontare le cure e la vita quotidiana.

Per perseguire tale obiettivo, la make up artist di esperienza Roberta De Cesare, consulente di bellezza volontaria per La Forza e il Sorriso Onlus, metterà a disposizione le sue competenze per insegnare alle partecipanti, attraverso le postazioni interattive dedicate al make up, i trucchi più semplici per valorizzare il proprio volto, indipendentemente dall’influenza negativa delle eventuali terapie, e rispondere alle domande delle partecipanti al laboratorio.

this month we want to give You a piece of our history. In fact, although Ennergi Research was founded just last year, we have been working for cancer patients over ten years developing research projects related to the treatment of tumors affecting women, especially breast and ovarian cancer. The first meeting between Dr. Serena Bertozzi and Dr. Ambrogio Londero dates back to 2006, while the collaboration with Dr. Carla Cedolini began already in 2009. At that time also dates one of the first works written by us on a little known pathology, that is Paget’s disease. This disease can affect the breast involving the nipple and the galattophores ducts, but may also develop outside the breast where it is more difficult to diagnose. Unfortunately, the article is in German, but we liked to share one of our first results with You.

questo mese vogliamo regalarvi un pezzo della nostra storia. Infatti, sebbene Ennergi Research sia stata fondata appena l’anno scorso, sono oltre dieci anni che lavoriamo al servizio dei pazienti oncologici sviluppando progetti di ricerca relativi al trattamento dei tumori che colpiscono la donna, in particolare il tumore al seno ed il tumore all’ovaio. Il primo incontro tra la dottoressa Serena Bertozzi ed il dottor Ambrogio Londero risale infatti al 2006, mentre la collaborazione con la dottoressa Carla Cedolini iniziava già nel 2009. A quell’epoca risale anche uno dei primi lavori scritti da noi su una patologia poco conosciuta, ovvero il morbo di Paget. Questa malattia può svilupparsi a livello mammario coinvolgendo il capezzolo ed i dotti galattofori che ivi sboccano, ma anche a livello extramammario dove risulta di più difficile diagnosi. L’articolo purtroppo è in lingua tedesca, ma ci piaceva condividere con voi uno dei nostri primi risultati.

People of all ages and even four-legged friends can participate. The participation fee entitles to the bib, a meal and a t-shirt of the event. The proceeds will contribute to the purchase of a new ultrasound for the Breast Unit. In addition, you can make free donations on site to support the purchase of materials for scientific research promoted by Ennergi Reseacrh.
